Thank you so much for your enormous generosity in donating items for the Sharing Shed. Word seems to be getting around since people seem to be finding items that they need. If you are wondering what you can donate next, the items that are very popular at this time are: diapers, hats and mittens, toilet paper, tissues, hand soap, dish soap, laundry detergent, hand sanitizer and masks. I have a feeling that this will change from time to time and as seasons change.
Our BIG ASK at this point, is folks who are willing to take on the mission of stocking the shed for a period of a month at a time. So far, it has seemed to be working with 2 folks working as a team with either one or both checking it every 2-3 days to make sure we have it restocked, as well as, moving items from the donation box to the storage area. You will find the “sign up” sheet on the white board by the table in the Narthex.
Please continue to collect your spare change in those boxes and bring them to church starting on Easter Sunday and throughout the Easter season. If you have found a special project on the calendar, that may also be brought to church to be sent to ELCA World Hunger.
The first week in May, the Maltes will take a load of quilts to Hilton, NY. It will be the beginning of a journey to Baltimore and then needy areas around the world.
Our small group of volunteers have made 33 quilts. We purchase quilt batting from Minnesota with Thrivent Action Team Funds. We do need donations of good sheets for quilt backs and fabrics to make tops.
We meet the third Wednesday of each month at 9:00 am to 10:15 am.
The quilts will be displayed on May 1st and we will have a coffee hour after worship. If you would like to support this ministry, place a donation in a pew envelope or at the Coffee Hour. This will help pay for shipping costs.
Help fight hunger in our community by donating a can of chunky chicken soup if you want the Cincinnati Bengals to win or a can of chunky beef soup if you prefer the Los Angeles Rams. Donations will be received throughout the month of February.
