Ministries at St. Paul’s
Learning, Growing and Serving
Learning and growing in our faith is a life-long adventure. We offer classes that focus on Scripture and topics relevant to our life of discipleship. The Wednesday class meets from 10:30am-noon. It is a hybrid format with people gathering in the church building and on Zoom. The Sunday morning class meets before worship from 8:30-9:30am.
This ministry provides funds to meet unmet needs in the Penn Yan School District and community. It’s also dedicated to developing new ministries at St. Paul’s such as the Sharing Shed, which provides nonperishable food and personal and household items to people in our neighborhood.
The congregation serves people in Penn Yan and around the world through a variety of opportunities organized by the Social Ministry Team. These include collecting items for local ministries, providing food for the Grab-n-Go lunches at the Living Well, donating pill bottles for people overseas, sending notes of encouragement to residents living in long-term care facilities, participating in ELCA projects, making quilts for Lutheran World Relief and collecting a monthly offering for local and world hunger. This group gathers on Zoom every Thursday morning at 10:00am to lift up people and situations to the God who promises to hear our prayers and respond to our needs.
