Faith Formation
Lenten Faith Formation Study
The story of Jesus’ death isn’t something we just read about…it’s something we experience.
Wednesday Morning: Prayer- an Adventure with God
We pray for our own needs and for the needs of others. We pray in the face of conflict, and we pray for forgiveness. And we can learn how to pray by praying and being prayed for by others. Join us for this 12-week study as we gain insight and experience in prayer while learning from Biblical examples, such as Mary, Abraham, Moses and Daniel. Classes meet on Wednesday mornings in person and on Zoom from 10:30am-noon from September 6-November 22. Let Pastor Lori know if you would like a book!

Make sure your microphone is muted when you are not talking. This will maximize your ability to hear and limit feedback issues. (Note: the microphone can be muted by moving your cursor to the lower left of your computer screen once you are in the ZOOM room. You will see the microphone icon pop up. If you tap it you will see a circle with a red line through it – this means you are muted. Simply tap again if you want to unmute and speak to the group.)
If you have not used ZOOM before, please log on a few minutes early to allow for the minor “set up” details to be taken care of on your computer.
Please note that I will be muting everyone during Sunday morning worship. As wonderful as it would be to hear us singing and praying as a group, the feedback this causes is distracting and uncomfortable to listen to.
We will appreciate seeing your face in the room. In the lower left-hand corner you will also see a camera icon – tap on that and you will activate your camera.
Enable the gallery feature on the top right-hand corner of the screen. This will enable you to see the faces of everyone who is at the gathering.
There is a chat area where you can type comments to everyone – or, if you click the drop-down arrow you can send a note privately to anyone else in the room.
Look for the bulletin and Faith Formation worksheet. I will be posting these resources on the screen for you to follow during our time together.
Sunday Morning: The Book of James
How do we translate faith into action? According to James, that’s the kind of genuine faith that matters and makes a difference. It was the kind of faith that was needed when James wrote to believers in the first century. And it’s still needed today. Join us from 8:30 – 9:30am starting September 10th for this nine-week study. Let Pastor Lori know if you would like a book.
Contact Pastor Lori if you would like to reserve a book or if you have questions about Faith Formation at St. Paul’s.
Faith Formation is one of the ways we grow deeper in our relationship with God and one another. It doesn’t require prior knowledge…just a willingness to learn!
Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend! Call Pastor Lori if you have any questions about the classes that are being offered.
